OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS
ORIGINAL CHECK Raagini Digital is a registered brand and instrument of Sound Labs. Press the Original Check button for one second and the announcement "Raagini from Sound Labs" will be audible. This confirms that you have an Original Raagini Digital by Sound Labs. Beware of Counterfeits, Duplicates and Fake Raagini Digital floating in the stores. Note: Doing this will reset the instrument to default factory settings.
ON/OFF Plug in the mains cord; two pin male plug into your AC wall power supply & female socket in the back of the instrument. Switch on Raagini Digital by pressing the On / Off button Note: Pressing the On / Off button again switchs of the instrument.
VOLUME The volume can be increased by pressing the Up button and decreased pressing Down button. Each press of the button will be represented by the momentary glowing of the corresponding LED. Note: On reaching the maximum or minimum Volume levels the corresponding LED will glow steady.
PITCH Select your required Sur (Note) using the SA Main button set. The SA Main Up & Down buttons helps you navigate between the lowest & the highest Sur (i.e. main notes). The Sur indication is arranged like Harmonium / Piano Keyboards for quick reference and the Sur selected is represented by its corresponding LED in the display above. Note: The first LED indicates ' MandraSafed 6 = A = 6 Kattai ' (Lowest Sur) and the last LED indicates ' Safed 7 = B = 7 Kattai ' (Highest Sur 2nd octave)
FINE PITCH To further fine-tune press SA Fine Up or Down button depending upon your requirement. Operate the Up or Down button until the required Sur is heard. Note: SA Fine allows selection in-between two main notes (i.e. in-between C & C by pressing up button and in-between C & B by pressing down button.) It is also indicated by pitch high or pitch low LED glowing.
SELECT The Select button helps you in the selection of PA, MA, NI or only SA style of playing on a rotational basis. Note: The corresponding LED of the PA, MA or NI will glow. And when only SA selected no LED will glow.
NI MANUAL Manual Nishad can be tuned by pressing either the manual NI Up or Down button. The range for manual Nishad adjustment is one Sur up on the higher side and one Sur down on the Lower side (i.e. If D is selected as Main Sa, Nishad will be adjustment from D to D on the higher side and D to C on the lower side.)Note: Manual Nishad can only be tuned when the LED of the select NI is On.
TONE Set the required tone by turning the Tone knob Note: Generally for lower Sur Tone is set to Male & for higher Sur towards Female.
STYLE Raagini Digital by default is set to play 6 Matra Style. Pa, Sa, Sa, Sa (Kharaj) (Carnatic Music Style.) To play 5 Matra Style, first press select button and then switch on the instrument using the Power NO/OFF button, then it will play Pa, Sa, Sa, Sa (Kharaj) (Hindustani music style.)
TEMPO Raagini Digital is automatically calibrated to playat the best Tempo to the selected Sur, but as per personal preference the Tempo can be increased by pressing the Up button or decreased pressing Down button. Increase or decrease in tempo will be indicated by the glowing of the corresponding LED. Note: When on default Tempo both LEDs will be off.
BATTERY (Caution:- Do NOT Charge Dry Cells) Raagini Digital has an inbuilt battery charger which automatically charges batteries while the instrument is connected to a power source. Please use only rechargeable AAA size battery. While the Battery is being charged the Battery Charging LED will glow. In the event of the battery charge being low, the Low Battery LED will glow; thereby prompting you to connect the instrument to main AC power supply for charging the batteries.
